Purpose of Life

What is the purpose of my life? I am sure this little question must have lead you into deep thoughts and still remains unanswered.

Before you continue reading the remaining part, I want to tell you that there is no fixed or authentic answer. But what I am going to share here is, where my thoughts lead me in the past.

In my personal opinion, the purpose of life is to “be happy”. Sounds simple? I know, but think about it for a second.

All of us wanted different things or accomplishments at different times in their life. But what was the purpose of these “wanting’s”? It is the sense of satisfaction. Or in other words the feeling of happiness.

Let me add a quote here,

What is the meaning of life? To be happy and useful.      – Tenzin Gyatso, 14th Dalai Lama

  1. my purpose of life has changed like seasons..
early teens I felt, life is to be loved..late teens I felt that I should be unique in all possible ways..early twenties I wanted to make something big and today I just wanted to be happy and be in peace..
no idea by early thirties what I may think about my life 😛

    • yeah.. but what I meant here is the absolute purpose of everyone.I think its same for everyone all the time. Its to be happy.

In your case you wanted different things at different times which you thought will make you happy. Even for me ‘the things I want to happen’ keep changing.

So,have you found happiness and peace? 😛

  2. Yes,of course I have..
Ten years back I thought that money is life, then I realized how wrong I was.We need money just enough to live well.

Today when people poke asking why I have not shifted my company or why I am still in India, the answer is that I heavenly happy with my life.

I won’t say everybody show off in life but I feel that especially mallus do it a bit more.

The best way to happiness is to stop showing off to others and to stop living to show off to others.
